Student Brings Home National 4-H Honors

Mason Lettinga, a senior at Thornapple Kellogg High School, took home big honors at a national livestock judging competition.

A member of the Michigan State University 4-H team, Mason won the Holstein category and sixth-place overall individual honors. His MSU 4-H team won third place overall at the November event.

The judging contests took place at the North American International Livestock Exposition, one of the world’s largest livestock expositions. Lettinga plans to study animal science at Michigan State or Iowa State University and hopes to continue dairy judging in college.
