My interest in journalism began early. From elementary school, I was known to produce weekly “newspapers” for my parents. Eventually, I became Arts & Entertainment editor at my high school’s paper. More recently, I’ve worked for Calvin University’s Chimes as a staff reporter and campus and community editor. I’m currently the managing editor of Chimes.
I’m in my third year studying writing and PPE (political science, philosophy, and economics) at Calvin, and hope to pursue a career in writing after graduation.
I grew up in a small town in northern Vermont and am loving getting to know the “big city” of Grand Rapids. I was homeschooled through eighth grade, but both of my parents and one of my older sisters currently work in a public school. I’m excited to help share the stories of public schools here in Kent County.
