Senior Carlos Velazquez's short 'Be The Change' was inspired by his "Film As Literature" class

'Be The Change'

An SNN Student Submission

by Carlos Velazquez

Kenowa Hills High School senior Carlos Velazquez created a compelling and inspirational anti-bullying video titled "Be the Change." It was inspired by Carlos' belief that bullying victims often turn into perpetrators themselves, and this cycle continues until someone reaches out and breaks the chain.

"Be the Change" was produced for Carlos' Film Literature class at KHHS. He also has his own YouTube Channel and has recently formed a partnership with Awesomeness TV, a YouTube channel with more than 3 million subscribers. Carol is planning to apply to Compass College of Cinematic Arts in Grand Rapids to pursue a career as a film director.

Kenowa Hills has been active in anti-bullying efforts, including its Knights Lights high school student group.
