Walk-a-Thon Raises Funds for Cedar Springs Elementary PTO

More than 2,000 students, staff and volunteer circled the track at Red Hawk Football Stadium to raise more than $24,000 for the Cedar Springs Elementary PTO. The recent walk-a-thon was the PTO’s fundraiser for the year, generating money for playground equipment, library books and other educational supplies.

The district’s four elementary schools participated: Cedar Trails, Beach, Cedar View and Red Hawk. Cedar View led the way with $9,264.63 raised, followed by Cedar Trails, $6,766.33; Beach, $5,300; and Red Hawk, $2,862.

Sponsorships from a dozen area companies paid for T-shirts for all the students, who proudly wore them in their laps around the track while students in the stands and the Cedar Springs Marching Band cheered them on.
