Grandville — “I was taking everything for granted, but I stopped because I put myself in my mom’s shoes and I knew that I wouldn’t want my kids to feel guilty.”
In this episode of “The Suburban” podcast, America (the girl) sits down with A/V teacher Mike Cox to talk about what makes America (the country) both beautiful and complicated. She discusses her family’s journey from the southern part of North America (Mexico, to be exact), and the many different ideas, feelings, preconceptions and misconceptions about that tricky word, “America.”
The Suburban is a student-led podcast from Grandville High School that focuses on the nuances of high school life. Students discuss a wide range of subjects, offering individual perspectives on what it takes to survive a normal school day. Sometimes the episodes are lighthearted and funny. Other times they’re deeply personal. Whatever the case, each episode examines the complexities of teen life, a subject that is notoriously misunderstood.
