Four More Interviewed for Superintendent Post

Four new candidates will interview for the Godfrey-Lee Public Schools superintendent position beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at Godfrey-Lee Early Childhood Center, 961 Joosten Street SW.

They are:

  • Scott Riley, superintendent of Camden-Frontier Schools, in Camden
  • Kevin Polston, principal at Lakeshore Middle School, in Grand Haven
  • Coby Fletcher, principal at East Lansing High School
  • Michael Pascoe, principal of City High Middle School and Center for Economicology in Grand Rapids Public Schools

The final candidates were narrowed from a pool of 30. Current Superintendent David Britten will retire on June 30. Pending the results of the search and contract negotiations, the individual selected will start on July 1, said board President Eric Mockerman.

This is the second attempt to fill the position after Carlos Lopez, director of curriculum, instruction and assessment in Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, in Plymouth, declined an offer from the Godfrey-Lee Board of Education for the job last month.
