A Mount Everest climb is a geography lesson in this classroom

Byron Center —  Nickels Intermediate School sixth-graders took a geography lesson on national heritage sites to incredible heights as they simulated climbers on Mount Everest.  The students in teacher Melissa Thomas’ class assumed the role of climbers on the legendary peaks, discovering some of the challenges presented during treacherous treks and learning about the mountain’s features as they completed their snowy ascent.
