New building: you name it

Byron Center — The community is invited to be a part of the district’s history by naming the new elementary school, set to open for the 2024-25 school year.

Entries can be submitted here until Oct. 1, along with a brief explanation of how you came up with the name and why the district should pick your suggestion.

The districts’ fourth elementary building will be housed in the former Nickels Intermediate School, 8638 Byron Center Ave. SW.

Nathan Clophus, Byron Center High School’s previous assistant principal, will serve as the to-be-named school’s principal. He is spending the current school year working closely alongside the other elementary principals and the community to prepare for his role.
