Registration now open for Fami-Lee 5K

Godfrey-Lee — Godfrey-Lee Public Schools is hosting their first Fami-Lee 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, June 8, and registration is now open.

Students, staff, school families and community members of all ages are invited to walk or run starting at Godfrey-Lee’s athletic field and continuing around the district. Check-in starts at 8:00 a.m. and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.

Registration is open until June 1, with an early bird special of $30 per person and a T-shirt available until May 10. From May 11 to June 1, the cost is $35 per person (with no guaranteed shirt). The event is being sponsored by the City of Wyoming Parks and Recreation.

All funds raised will be used to support the district’s athletic program, but Godfrey-Lee Athletic Director Andre Sargent said the event is more than just a fundraiser.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase our community here at Godfrey-Lee,” Sargent said. “We would like to invite those who don’t know much about our district to experience our wonderful ‘fami-lee.’”
