Immersed in history, science & culture at Grand Rapids Public Museum

A week at the museum brought third-graders up close with artifacts, specimens and opportunities to learn and explore

East Grand Rapids — Five days spent at the Grand Rapids Public Museum gave Wealthy Elementary third-graders time to dive into their curiosity and immerse themselves into everything around them.

From the Tyrannosaurus rex to the planetarium to the Newcomers: The People of this Place, students explored their own interests among the many exhibits and artifacts. According to museum educators, the in-depth Immerse program offers a blend of history, science and culture, allowing students to take what they learn back to the classroom.

SNN’s videographer joined in the discovery as students moved from exhibit to exhibit.
