Civil War re-enactors in full garb provided a living-history experience to Byron Center West Middle School students

Students Get Lesson in Civil War Living

Re-enactors from Third Michigan Volunteer Infantry, Company F, based in Grand Rapids, recently brought history to life for Byron Center West Middle School students.

The group, which aims to educate the public and preserve Civil War life, spent the day sharing their knowledge. 

“It was a great day of authentic learning for our students,” said Jason Kaiser,  7th and 8th grade history teacher. “They were able to see, first hand, what life was like during the Civil War.
