And the wheels on the library go round and round

Rockford — On a warm morning, a third-grader found a cozy spot on the lawn outside Ric’s Food Center to read his new Captain Underpants book. Nearby, a preschooler proudly held up two Berenstain Bears books — her favorites — after stepping off a rolling library. The Rockford Book Bus is a new addition to learning resources in Rockford this summer, making four stops a day in a converted school bus to bring books to children and families in their neighborhoods. Here’s the schedule for the bus, which continues its rounds through Aug. 12. School News Network rode along for this video report.
