Wood Tech students ready to go boarding with their own creations

Grandville — “It really gets them excited about learning,” says teacher Aaron Grifhorst of the Wood Tech class at Grandville High School, which offers students the chance to develop woodworking skills that will come in handy in the future.

It also includes the Gone Boarding program, established with funds from the Grandville Education Foundation, a project that combines creative design with woodworking as students get to build their own longboard, surfboard or snowboard. Our videographer visited a class this spring to see these skills in action and discover how these boards come together.

Explore more unique video stories of students learning, interesting school programs and educators working to help all children succeed.
