Cedar Springs — The search for the next superintendent of Cedar Springs Public Schools is underway, and the board of education has selected three candidates for first-round interviews.
Out of a pool of 24 applicants, the school board has invited these frontrunners to interview at the following times on Monday, Oct. 12:
- 6:15 p.m., Randy Barton, assistant superintendent, Mason Public Schools
- 7:15 p.m., Ted Davis, superintendent, Hillsdale Community Schools
- 8:15 p.m., Ryan Biller, superintendent, Tri County Area Schools
All interviews are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend. Interviews will take place in the board room at Cedar Springs High School, 5212 17 Mile Road.
After the Oct. 12 interviews, the district expects to invite one or more candidates back for a second round of interviews on Monday, Oct. 19.
The search commenced this summer after Superintendent Scott Smith announced his plans to retire in December. Smith has been with the district since 2018.
More information about the search process can be found on the district’s website.
