Caledonia Future Farmers Earns Outstanding Alumni Award

The 38-member strong Caledonia Chapter of Future Farmers of America alumni and boosters affiliate has earned the right to be in the public eye.

It was recently recognized as the 2015 Michigan FFA Alumni Outstanding Affiliate during the annual Michigan FFA Alumni Association meeting held in Ravenna. The award is given to an affiliate that completes a 10-page application highlighting activities that promote member, chapter and community development.

The Caledonia FFA affiliate demonstrated it was worthy of the award by promoting the FFA within the community through participation in an annual toy show, assisting with fair projects, serving as judges and coaches, and providing students with transportation to FFA activities. Anyone who supports the FFA is eligible for membership.

The state award paves the way for the Caledonia FFA alumni and boosters to be evaluated by a panel of experts in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the National FFA Center, where awards will be presented at a special session at the National FFA Alumni Convention in October.
