Come together, everyone!

Kelloggsville hosts its annual community event Sept. 15

Kelloggsville — The Kelloggsville Community Event has been set for Friday, Sept. 15 at Kelloggsville Middle School, 4650 S. Division Ave., with everyone invited to check out the district’s new athletic complex that officially opened in the spring.

“We started doing this even more than 20 years ago,” said Director of Instruction Jeff Owen, who has helped organize the annual event. “Kelloggsville is unique in that it is not a city, with half of its population living in Kentwood and half living in Wyoming.

“The idea was to create a fun night that parents could bring out their children and enjoy the evening.”

The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with a variety of activities such as face painting and a bouncy house along with other inflatables. Food also will be available at a nominal cost. Participating will be a number of student and parent organizations along with local businesses and organizations such as Culver’s and Kent District Library.

At 7 p.m., the Kelloggsville Rockets will face off against Sparta at the football field, located behind the middle school.
