Administration department to expand

Godfrey-Lee — Godfrey-Lee Public Schools plans to expand its administration department into newly acquired space.

The district on Dec. 15 purchased Bloom Credit Union’s Wyoming branch building, 1414 Burton St. SW, next door to the current administration offices.

Bloom Credit Union, which has a history of providing in-kind donations for students, previously shared its parking lot with Godfrey-Lee, which lacked spaces at the administration building.

Bloom is relocating its administrative offices and bank branch to locations in Wyoming and Grand Rapids. Their 1414 Burton St. SW branch will continue to operate until the move to another nearby branch.

The district hopes to create a new administration building, with potential space for a conference and community center.
