‘I’m going to wave my flag’: Parade honors students from many nations

Townline Elementary students celebrate heritage and traditions

Kentwood — The many flags of Townline Elementary waved wildly as students marched in the Parade of Nations, an annual event that celebrates the many countries from which students and their families come.

Dressed in clothes special to them, students marched through the gymnasium as parents cheered. Students also sang, tasted traditional foods, danced and reflected on representing a country and Kentwood Public Schools.
