New stadium connects community from the past and present

Caledonia — For 75 years, the Caledonia community has gathered at Ralph E. Myers Stadium to watch their high school’s Fighting Scots play football.

To honor “The Ralph’s” multi-generational legacy of community and athletics, the district hosted a ribbon-cutting celebration on Aug. 26 to re-dedicate the newly renovated stadium.

SNN’s videographer visited the Fighting Scots’ first home football game of the season on the new field to share the stories and lessons learned from CCS athletes of the past and present.

The renovations were made possible by voters who passed a $61 million supplemental bond in 2023, which also funded construction of a new Dutton Elementary School and other projects previously removed from a 2020 bond to cut costs.

The project was also supported and overseen by the Caledonia Board of Education, Tower Pinkster, Rockford Construction and Plante Moran Cresa.
