Comstock Park — Giant bubbles floated through the air as the bell on the high striker rang out while students tested their strength at the Comstock Park Community Outreach Summer Carnival last month.
The event was the first of three hosted by the community organization, a coalition of agencies, organizations, churches, township government, schools and service clubs that meets monthly to collaborate on improving the quality of life for community members. June’s event included participation from the Alpine Township Fire Department and Wedgwood Christian Services.
Two more summer events are scheduled:
A foam party will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. July 30 at the York Creek Community Center, 3999 Alpenhorn Drive NE. Attendees are encouraged to wear a swimsuit and bring a towel.
A back-to-school resource fair will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. Aug. 20 at Mill Creek Middle School, 100 Betty St. NE. Free school supplies will be available while they last.
“These activities are a nice way for the community to connect,” said Missi McPherson, Comstock Park Public Schools educational support services coordinator and chair of Comstock Park Community Outreach.
