Education Everywhere — Teachers looking for new, creative ways to teach civics and history are invited to special events at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
These open houses for teachers are scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, Wednesday, January 27 and Monday, February 8. Each open house runs from 4-6 p.m. and includes a guided tour of the museum, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the presidency of Gerald R. Ford.
The events will give teachers opportunities to explore resources, including no-cost field trips, educational programs for all grade levels, teacher conferences and professional development options. Featured programs for the 2026-27 school year include:
- Three Branches of Government – Elementary students, grades 3-5
- Political Cartooning Workshop – Middle school students, grades 6-8
- Pardon me? Should Ford Pardon Nixon? – High school students
Tours will also include refreshments and time for networking with other area educators.
The open houses are free, but space is limited, so teachers should register on the DeVos Learning Center website.
