GRCC, WMU launch Bronco Bound Guarantee

Grand Rapids Community College — Through a new partnership between Grand Rapids Community College and Western Michigan University, eligible GRCC students are guaranteed admission to WMU.

Called the Bronco Bound Guarantee, students who earn an associate degree at GRCC will have their WMU fee application waived and receive automatic consideration for scholarships. Eligible students are guaranteed an annual award of  $1,000 to $4,500.

“Together, we are creating more opportunities for students to achieve their educational goals and build a brighter future for themselves and our communities,” said GRCC President Kathryn Rogalski in a press release.

Students must still meet specific program admission requirements, according to WMU officials. To ease the transition, eligible students will receive support from transfer advisors and follow recommended academic plans to maximize the number of credits that transfer.

Students who earn an associate degree through an approved transfer plan or agreement can apply their GRCC credits toward the corresponding WMU degree, according to the press release.

Before enrolling at WMU, eligible students will have early access to university resources and campus experiences, including free admission to some WMU sporting events.
