‘The journey’s not over’: High-schoolers showcase Black history

Kentwood — Black history came to life recently at East Kentwood High School, where students educated others through performance, food and presentations.

The program, “A Walk to Freedom: The Journey’s Not Over,” merged music, dancing, theater and more to create a showcase of student talent.

The annual student-created event shares the message that Black history continues and perseveres.

SNN’s videographer Brett Atwood captured the action and history as it continued to unfold.

Explore more unique video stories of students learning, interesting school programs and educators working to help all children succeed.
